At Aster RV, we are currently offering treatment and services for the following high-risk conditions -

Pre-Existing Medical Condition -  Women with pre-existing medical or surgical conditions must consult their doctors before planning a family. These conditions increase the risk for the mother and baby during the duration of the pregnancy. Following are some of the medical conditions that need close monitoring during pregnancy -

  • Diabetes
  • Heart disease
  • Chronic kidney disease
  • Asthma
  • Autoimmune disorders
  • Ante Partum Hemorrhage
  • Epilepsy
  • Cervical Incompetence
  • Recurrent Pregnancy Loss
  • Placental Problems

Multiple Pregnancies - If a woman is carrying two or more fetuses this type of pregnancy is known as multiple pregnancy. Women who undergo multiple pregnancies often suffer from issues such as morning sickness, fatigue, and weight gain and have a high risk of developing preeclampsia, and gestational diabetes. Due to these issues, many women often go into pre-term labour and may have pre mature rupture of membranes.

Gestational Diabetes -  If a woman develops high blood sugar for the first time, during her pregnancy, then this condition is known as gestational diabetes. Usually gestational diabetes resolves after pregnancy, however, due to this condition, many women have a 50% risk of developing diabetes later on in life. Several risk factors increase the chances of developing gestational diabetes -

  • Overweight
  • Sedentary lifestyle
  • History of having a large baby in a previous pregnancy
  • Family history of diabetes
  • PCOS

Pre-eclampsia - In this medical condition the patient’s blood pressure shoots up during pregnancy. Some of the most common signs to identify pre-eclampsia include -

  • Headache
  • Blurring of Vision
  • Vomiting
  • Right-sided upper abdomen pain

If not diagnosed in time, pre-eclampsia may lead to several complications such as preterm delivery, placental abruption, damage to the mother’s kidney, liver, brain eyes etc and in more severe cases a patient may have seizures.
