Burns Debridement

Burns are commonly presenting injuries in the emergency room. The debridement procedure removes dead tissue from a wound, injury, or burn. Surgical debridement of the burn is done to remove the dead tissue and foreign debris. Debriding allows the preservation of healthy tissue, better healing, lesser scar formation, and prevention of infections. Early debridement and grafting are essential for appropriate burn management.
