Management of high-risk pregnancies and deliveries
A "high-risk" pregnancy and delivery indicates that a woman has one or more factors that increase the woman's or her newborn's risk of having health issues or giving birth prematurely. Women having high-risk pregnancies and deliveries are counselled to pay close attention to their health, have a good diet, maintain a healthy amount of weight, and eliminate any potentially harmful substances or medicines.
