In Compartment Syndrome, high pressure builds up in a closed space containing muscle, tissue called fascia, and bone. The syndrome happens after a high-energy injury or cast pressure. Fasciotomy is an emergency procedure to relieve pressure and prevent the degeneration of the involved muscle and nerves.
