Intravascular Ultrasound
An intravascular ultrasound is done to visualize the coronary arteries from the inside. This procedure is beneficial in detecting cholesterol deposits/ plaques in blood vessels. The procedure involves guiding a minuscule ultrasound from a major artery in the groin area up to the coronary arteries. This diagnostic test is usually done along with other procedures and helps to:
- Visualize the coronary arteries
- Help to diagnose and treat some cardiac issues.
