Ventilator Associated Lung Injuries
Ventilator-associated lung injuries are any acute lung trauma that occurs or is aggravated during mechanical ventilation. Positive and negative pressure applied to the lung carries the risk of causing lung injury. It also causes severe side effects like the risk of developing pneumonia, reduced cardiac performance, and problems related to sedation and paralysis.
