Lumbar puncture & CSF evaluation for bacterial and fungal menengites

This is procedure done on the lower back wherein a needle is inserted between two vertebras in the lower back region to remove a sample of a fluid that surrounds the spinal cord and the brain. This fluid called as the cerebro spinal fluid can be evaluated for various bacterial and viral infections which will give clinicians a clarity on the course of clinical management.
