Aster MIMS Mother Areekode’s Centre is the largest Orthopaedics and Sports Medicine centre in Eastern Malabar, providing specialised diagnosis and treatment for conditions affecting the bones, joints, muscles, ligaments, tendons, cartilage, and spine. Located in Areekode, Malappuram, the department provides specialised orthopaedic and sports medicine care for paediatric, adult, geriatric, and athletic patients, including individuals with pain, injury, or other conditions affecting movement and function.

The centre provides comprehensive care for joint pain and stiffness, osteoarthritis, ligament and cartilage injuries, fractures, dislocations, spinal problems, deformities, limb-length differences, rheumatic conditions, and complex fractures that are delayed in healing or have not healed properly.

The Sports Medicine division focuses on injuries involving the knee, shoulder, elbow, ankle, and other areas affected by sports or physical activity. The team manages ACL and other ligament injuries, meniscus tears, shoulder instability, rotator cuff problems, tennis elbow, ankle sprains, Achilles tendon injuries, muscle strains, tendon disorders, and overuse injuries.

Treatment is selected according to the patient’s diagnosis, symptoms, activity level, medical history, and recovery goals. Depending on individual needs, care may include medication, injections, physiotherapy, activity modification, arthroscopic or keyhole surgery, joint replacement, fracture fixation, deformity correction, limb-lengthening procedures, and structured rehabilitation.

As an orthopaedic hospital in Areekode, the centre provides diagnostic services, trauma care, operating facilities, day-care procedures, intensive care support, and postoperative monitoring. Emergency orthopaedic services are available 24 hours a day for fractures, dislocations, open injuries, and other urgent conditions.
