Dr. Vasif Mayan M C is a Consultant in Infectious Diseases with a distinguished academic record, having secured the First Rank with Distinction in his DM (Infectious Diseases) from Government Medical College Kottayam (KUHS university), following a First Rank with 8 Gold Medals in his MBBS from Kerala University. His clinical expertise spans tropical and emerging infections, infections in critically ill, multidrug-resistant bacterial diseases, invasive fungal, parasitic and viral infections, sexually transmitted infections and infections in solid-organ and haematopoietic transplant recipients and other immunocompromised hosts — an area he has deepened through specialised observerships at Gleneagles Global Hospitals Chennai, ACTREC Tata Memorial Centre Mumbai, and Christian Medical College Vellore, three of India's leading transplant infection centres. He also specializes in International travel related health advisories and Vaccinations.

Beyond individual patient care, Dr. Vasif has played a defining role in institutional and public health leadership. He served as District Nodal Officer for Wayanad District for Kerala's 2018 Nipah virus outbreak — and again as Government designated District Nodal Officer for COVID-19 in Wayanad through the pandemic, coordinating district-wide surveillance, containment, and vaccination efforts. He has combined this with six years as Assistant Professor of Internal Medicine and concurrently as Deputy Medical Superintendent at Dr Moopen's Medical College, Wayanad, giving him a rare blend of frontline clinical, academic, and hospital administrative experience. He is a Member of the European Society of Clinical Microbiology and Infectious Diseases (ESCMID). 
Dr. Vasif's areas of special interest include antimicrobial stewardship and Anti Microbial Resistance, hospital infection prevention and control, therapeutic drug monitoring and precision dosing, molecular diagnostics and genome sequencing, device- and biofilm-associated infections, travel medicine, and adult immunisation. He is an active researcher and educator, with multiple peer-reviewed publications and national conference awards to his name, and has served as Educational Supervisor for the MRCP-UK Internal Medicine Training programme. He is committed to building robust, evidence-based Infectious Diseases and precision diagnostics services that combine clinical excellence with academic rigour.
