Dr. Abdulla K P

Dr. Abdulla K P is a certified Surgical Oncologist with extensive expertise in managing a wide spectrum of cancers. His areas of specialization include colorectal cancer surgeries, gynecological cancers, breast cancer, lung cancer, kidney cancer, robotic and laparoscopic cancer surgeries, HIPEC (Hyperthermic Intraperitoneal Chemotherapy), breast oncoplastic surgery, gynecologic oncology, skin and soft tissue surgery, uro-oncology, thoracic oncology, and peritoneal malignancies. He is one of the most renowned surgical oncologists in North Kerala and is currently working as a Senior Specialist in the Department of Surgical Oncology at Aster MIMS Oncology Centre, Calicut. Skilled in both minimally invasive and open surgical procedures, he is also proficient in performing complex procedures such as peritonectomy with HIPEC for peritoneal malignancies of various etiologies.

Dr. Abdulla completed his MBBS (2009) and MS in General Surgery (2015) from Government Medical College, Calicut. He also earned DNB in General Surgery (2016), followed by MCh in Surgical Oncology (2020) from the Regional Cancer Centre (RCC), Trivandrum. In addition, he achieved DrNB in Surgical Oncology (2021) from the National Board of Examinations. His international credentials include MRCS (Edinburgh, UK) and Fellowship of the European Board of Surgical Oncology (FEBS) by ESSO in 2023. He has also completed a Fellowship in Advanced Laparoscopic Oncosurgery (FALS, 2011), along with specialized short-term training in laparoscopy and thoracoscopy from reputed institutes.

Dr. Abdulla’s professional journey includes working at prestigious cancer centres such as AIIMS New Delhi, where he gained advanced exposure in surgical oncology, and Tata Memorial Hospital, Mumbai, where he trained in thoracic oncology and VATS. He has also served in the Department of Surgical Oncology at Malabar Cancer Hospital, Thalassery, Kerala, before joining Aster MIMS.

Beyond clinical care, Dr. Abdulla is actively engaged in cancer prevention, screening, and early detection programs in both rural and urban populations of Kerala.
