Dr. Ashraf V.V. is a highly experienced senior consultant neurologist with over 23 years of expertise in diagnosing and managing a wide range of neurological disorders. He completed his MBBS and MD (General Medicine) from Calicut Medical College, followed by DNB in General Medicine from the National Board of Examinations and DM in Neurology from the National Institute of Mental Health and Neurosciences (NIMHANS), Bangalore.
He has undergone advanced fellowship training in Epilepsy at the UCL Institute of Neurology, Queen Square, London, and holds a specialty certification in Neurology from the Royal College of Physicians, UK. Dr. Ashraf is actively involved in clinical research and postgraduate training, with over 50 research publications to his credit.
His clinical focus areas include Neuroimmunology, Neuromuscular Disorders, Epilepsy, and Stroke, and he is skilled in advanced procedures such as electromyography, polysomnography, presurgical evaluation for refractory epilepsy, botulinum toxin therapy for movement disorders, and immunotherapy for multiple sclerosis and related conditions.
Dr. Ashraf has played a pivotal role in establishing the Department of Neurology at Aster MIMS, Calicut, and has served as a senior consultant, contributing to the growth of neurology services in Kerala. His dedication to patient care, research, and training has earned him prestigious accolades, including the Dr. Eapen Samuel Memorial Award and fellowships from the American Academy of Neurology and Royal College of Physicians, Glasgow.
