Aster Medcity in association with the Cheranalloor Panchayath will provide free health insurance to 2500 BPL families in the Panchayath. Around 10,000 people in the age group of 5 to 70 years will benefit from this project. What makes this initiative unique is that the insurance will cover pre-existing diseases, offer maternity benefits for one child and also offer concessions for outpatient consultations. The entire premium for the insurance program was borne by Aster Medcity. The inauguration of the project and the distribution of the health insurance cards were done by the Hon. Minister for Home, Shri. Ramesh Chennithala,at the Cheranalloor Grama Panchayath Auditorium. Shri. K V Thomas - MP, Shri. Hybi Eden - MLA, Shri. Ludy Louis – MLA, and Shri. K K Suresh Babu - President of the Cheranalloor Panchayath were also present.Aster Medcity also contributed Rs 10 lacs for the Waste Disposal Management scheme initiated by Cheranaloor Panchayat.
