BeFirst just completed its third year, and this chapter has been one of its most meaningful. The goal has always been clear: equip 3,000 students with essential Basic Life Support (BLS) skills. The journey began at St. Albert’s College (Autonomous), Ernakulam, where the first 300 students stepped in with curiosity and walked out with life-saving confidence. That shift in awareness is exactly what BeFirst is about—building a community that knows how to respond when it matters most.
The anniversary gathering brought together leaders from education, healthcare, and public service.
Their contributions shaped the day:
• Mr. Anty T J, Coordinator & HoD, Physical Education – Welcome Address
• Rev. Fr. Shine Pauly Kalathil, Vice-Chairman & Registrar – Presidential Address
• Sri. Biju Isac, RTO (Enforcement), Ernakulam – Inaugural Address
• Dr. Shuhaib Kader, COO, Aster Medcity – Keynote Address
• Dr. Joseph Justin Rebello, Principal – Principal’s Address
• Dr. Johnson K Varghese, Lead Consultant, Emergency Medicine – Presented “BeFirst Journey So Far”
• Mr. Vinod Kumar N, Motor Vehicle Inspector – Facilitation
• Dr. Sabu M C, CoE, St. Albert’s College (Autonomous) – Facilitator
• Dr. Neeraja James, HoD, Economics – Vote of Thanks
The day reinforced one idea: when more people learn life-saving skills, the entire community becomes stronger.
