The Aster Medcity Nursing team had the privilege to conduct a comprehensive 5-day Tissue Viability course specifically designed for nurses across various Aster units. This training program was held under the expert supervision of Capt. R. Thangam, Chief of Nursing, Aster DM Healthcare India.
A total of 21 nursing staffs from Aster units actively participated in the course, which was inaugurated by Dr. Nalanda Jaydev, CEO of Aster Medcity. The inauguration ceremony was also graced by Dr. Dilip Paniker - CMS, Dr. Manoj Maruti Sanap - Plastic Surgeon and Mr. Anoop Pious - Head of HR.
The curriculum for the course was meticulously developed by the Education team of Aster Medcity under the guidance of Capt. R. Thangam (Chief of Nursing, Aster DM Healthcare India), Dr. Ananthakrishna Bhat (Consultant - Podiatry) , Dr. Manoj Maruti Sanap (Senior Consultant - Plastic, Reconstructive & Aesthetic Surgery) and Dr. Soumya John (Senior Consultant - General Surgery) to ensure it meets the highest standards of clinical practice. The curriculum was designed with 10 hours of theory and 40 hours of practical sessions.
The 5-day Tissue Viability course is a testament to Aster Medcity’s commitment to excellence in nursing education and patient care. It reinforces the critical role of tissue viability nurses in maintaining skin integrity and elevating the standards of clinical practice within the hospital.
