Kochi: His Excellency Humaid Al Qutami, Director-General of Dubai Health Authority (DHA) was welcomed by Dr. Azad Moopen, Founder Chairman and Managing Director, Aster DM Healthcare, Commander Jelson Kavalakkat, CEO of Aster Medcity and team at Aster Medcity as part of an executive visit to India.
As one of India’s most advanced healthcare destinations, Aster Medcity is renowned for introducing the region’s and country’s many ‘first-time’ advanced treatment techniques. The facility comprises one multi-specialty hospital and ten dedicated Centres of Excellence in Cardiac Sciences, Neurosciences, Orthopaedics & Rheumatology, Nephrology & Urology, Oncology, Women’s Health, Child & Adolescent Health, Gastroenterology & Integrated Liver Care, Multi-Organ Transplant and Minimal Access Robotic Surgery.
As part of the visit, H.E. Al Qutami toured the facility accompanied by Dr. Younis Kazim, CEO, Dubai Healthcare Corporation; Dr, Maryam Al Raesi, CEO, Dubai Hospital; Dr. Mona Tahlak, CEO, Latifa Hospital; Dr. Mansoor Nathari, Medical Director, Rashid Hospital and Dr. Mohammad Al Redha, Director, PMO, Informatics & Smart Health, to explore potential collaboration opportunities.
Dr, Azad Moopen and team presented the features and specialties of the hospital to the delegates, with a focus on the Centers of Excellence concept, technological advancements, emergency service, OPD areas, patient rooms, robotic treatment OT, among others. Doctors at the hospital discussed several case studies including the youngest kidney and liver transplant conducted on a one and half year old child with a rare disorder. Robot Assisted Transplant Services were also highlighted as more than 50 per cent of transplant surgeries at the hospital are now done using this technology.
