Aster Hospitals bags 4 Kerala State Pollution Control Awards 2016

Dubai , 05 June 2016 : Aster DM Healthcare, one of Asia’s leading healthcare service provider, bagged 4 awards for its institutions in the state at the Kerala State Pollution Awards 2016

The Aster MIMS Kozhikode created history by being chosen for first place among private hospitals in the above 500 bed category, for the 10th time running. Aster Medcity, Kochi with 300 operating beds presently is chosen for first place in the 200-500 bed category. Aster MIMS Kottakkal won the second place for private hospital in the 100-200 bed category and DM WIMS Hospital, Meppadi which is managed by Aster, won the second place in the Medical College Hospital category.

He added that it is very important that all industries and business focus on the environment as there are many illnesses which are spread due to lax pollution control measures. It is also a matter of pride that all the 4 hospitals of the Group in the state with over 2000 beds are NABH accredited.

The annual Kerala State Pollution Control Awards is given by the KSPC since 1989 to establishments from various industries based on the innovative methods of pollution control and the protection of the environment. The applications are screened by a judging committee which includes the KPCB board members, industry and technical experts. This year the Kerala Pollution Control Board (KPCB) took in applications from Industries (large, medium and small scale), hotels, resorts, hospitals (government and private), Ayurveda Hospitals, local bodies (corporation, municipality and panchayat) and print and visual media.

The awards function held on World Environment Day (June 5th, 2016), at Mascot Paradise, Kannur. Mrs. Sreemathy Teacher, Member of Parliament – Govt. of India & Smt. K K Shylaja, the Hon’ble Minister for Health, Social Justice & Pollution Control - Government of Kerala gave away the Awards.
