Aster MIMS Emergency Department gains NABH Quality recognition

Aster MIMS Kozhikode has added another feather to its cap with the NABH Quality recognition for its Emergency Department.Announced three months ago, the Emergency Department accreditation is a new addition by the National Accreditation Board for Hospitals and Healthcare Providers, and hospitals are expected to meet 254 different quality standards before they are accredited. After a rigorous inspection process, Aster MIMS was granted this certification, making them one of the two Indian institutions to be thus recognized. The other one is Aster Medcity, in Kochi.

Dr Azad Moopen, Chairman, Aster DM Healthcare said, “We have always been forerunners when it comes to setting standards in quality healthcare. With this achievement, we have once again set the bar high for each of our institutions and for other hospitals nationally.”

The NABH is a constituent board of Quality Council of India (QCI), set up to establish and operate accreditationprogramme for healthcare organizations. NABH accreditation is a public recognition of the achievement of accreditation standards.The said accreditation is valid for a two-year period.
