Aster MIMS Kottakkal, in association with the Kottakkal Municipality, organised a free cancer detection camp as part of World Cancer Day observances. The initiative witnessed strong public participation, with 158 individuals benefiting from comprehensive cancer screening services.
The camp offered essential diagnostic procedures, including 70 mammography tests, 36 ultrasound examinations, 33 Pap smear tests, and 48 VIA/VILI screenings for the early detection of cervical cancer. The medical services were led by Dr Remya Bineesh (Senior Consultant – Gynae-Oncology) and Dr Afra Abdurahman (Senior Specialist – General Surgery), supported by a dedicated healthcare team.
By promoting early diagnosis, increasing awareness of timely medical intervention, and ensuring accessible preventive healthcare, the initiative reaffirmed Aster MIMS Kottakkal’s commitment to improving community health outcomes.
