As part of World Suicide Prevention Day, Aster Mother Hospital proudly hosted an in-house awareness campaign on September 10, 2025, under the theme: "Change The Narrative On Suicide”. The campaign aimed to shed light on the importance of mental health, encourage open conversations, and promote suicide prevention efforts among staff, patients, and visitors.
Yellow Ribbon Distribution
In a symbolic gesture of hope, unity, and support, yellow ribbons were distributed throughout the hospital. Staff members and visitors were encouraged to wear the ribbon as a sign of solidarity with those struggling silently and in memory of lives lost. The vibrant yellow served as a powerful visual reminder of the importance of compassion, understanding, and early intervention.
Awareness Classes & Educational Sessions
To strengthen the campaign’s impact, a series of awareness classes were conducted in association with various organisations and institutions. These sessions were led by mental health professionals and focused on:
- Recognizing early signs of emotional distress
- How to offer support to someone in crisis
- Available mental health resources
- Breaking the stigma around mental health conversations
This campaign reflects Aster Mother Hospital’s ongoing commitment to holistic care — recognizing that mental well-being is just as crucial as physical health.
