Dr. Azad Moopen, Founder Chairman and Managing Director, Aster DM Healthcare was invited as a Special Speaker at the recently part of the inaugural session at the 7th Edition of the Advantage Health Care-India 2023 held between August 17-19, 2023 attended by Shri Mansukh Mandaviya Minister of Health and Family Welfare and Chemicals and Fertilizers of India; Dr. Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, Director-General of the World Health Organization and several government dignitaries and leaders in healthcare. Sharing his vision for the Indian healthcare sector and especially on the MVT opportunities.
Dr. Moopen said, “Today the the image of India has completely transformed, especially in healthcare. India has the advantage of providing comprehensive care with access to traditional medicine and modern medical treatment. If earlier the advantage for Medical Value Tourism in India was the cost differentiator, today we are known for the quality of medical care through tertiary and quaternary treatment . With participation or health ministers and officials from 70 countries , Advantage Health Care-India 2023 will add immense value in nurturing partnerships in the growing MVT sector in India. On the 2nd day of the event, Dr. Moopen was part of the esteemed panel of CEO roundtable discussion.
Opening the CEO round table discussion at the Advantage Health Care-India 2023, he said, "The single source MVT portal launched by the Government of India yesterday is a significant milestone , allowing seamless access to information on hospitals and doctors across the nation . Going even forward , I propose the development of a 'Heal in India App’ that can serve as a comprehensive resource on all medical facilities offering MVT services in India ,providing details of various treatment and tariff.
He added that India can strive to become the Number One destination for MVT in the world in 10 years by properly promoting the country by highlighting the capabilities through international roadshows and engagement with medical communities and governments . We have to go beyond supplying medical professionals to the world but must export vaccines, medicines and medical devices to other countries. The
Telemedicine presents an opportunity to extend our services globally, particularly in underserved regions like Africa. Training programs for foreign doctors, encompassing modern medicine, Ayurveda, and Yoga, can further bolster India's reputation ."
Dr Moopen further stressed on the importance of giving back to the underserviced regions in healthcare like Africa through training programs for doctors and telemedicine support which will inturn help attract medical professionals and patients to india. This will be a great step forward in achieving the mission of Heal in India.
