Dr. Chandra Shekar C
Associate Consultant - Nephrology
Dr. Chandra Shekar C is a highly experienced Nephrologist and Renal Transplant Physician, currently serving as Associate Consultant – Nephrology and Renal Transplantation at Aster CMI Hospital, Bengaluru. He did his MBBS from the prestigious Madras Medical College and internship from the oldest hospital of India, the Rajiv Gandhi Government General Hospital in Chennai. He went on to pursue MD General Medicine from VMMC and Safdarjung Hospital, New Delhi and completed his DM Nephrology from All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), Rishikesh. He subsequently pursued specialized fellowship training in Renal Transplantation Medicine at SGPGI, Lucknow, one of India’s premier transplant centres known for complex renal transplants. During his fellowship, Dr. Chandra Shekar was involved in the management of more than 200 kidney transplants, including ABO-incompatible, HLA-sensitized, paediatric, second and third renal transplants. He was also a part of the team involved in India’s first ABO-incompatible kidney transplant in a patient with Chronic Myeloid Leukemia (CML) at SGPGI, Lucknow. Dr. Chandra Shekar has authored scientific publications and presented his work at national and international conferences. He served as a faculty at Mid-term ISOT 2026.
