Dr. Poovamma C.U. is leading our team as the Head of Department for Breast Oncology & Oncoplasty at Aster CMI Hospital, Bangalore. A distinguished and highly respected breast oncology surgeon, Dr. Poovamma brings over 15 years of dedicated experience to her practice, with a special focus on advanced oncoplastic and aesthetic breast surgery.
Her strong foundational medical education began with an MBBS from the prestigious Kasturba Medical College, Manipal, followed by an MS in General Surgery from Shri BM Patil Medical College, Bijapur (RGUHS). Driven by a passion for her speciality, she further honed her skills with a Fellowship in Breast Diseases from RGUHS. To master the latest global techniques, Dr. Poovamma pursued advanced training at the esteemed Interdisciplinary Breast Centre in Germany and completed an International Fellowship in Oncoplastic, Reconstructive and Aesthetic Breast Surgery.
Dr. Poovamma C.U.'s practice is founded on a philosophy of compassionate, holistic care, viewing treatment as the meeting point of two journeys: her clinical expertise and the patient's personal experience of courage and resilience.
