Senior Consultant - Anaesthesiology & Critical Care
Dr. Sangeeth PS is a Senior Consultant in the Department of Anesthesiology & Critical Care at Aster Medcity, Kochi, where he leads the Transplant Anesthesia Unit. A fellowship-trained transplant anesthesiologist with international experience, he specializes in the perioperative management of complex liver and kidney transplantation, including high-risk adult and pediatric cases. With more than 15 years of transplant experience, Dr. Sangeeth is actively involved in delivering advanced transplant anesthesia care as part of one of the leading multidisciplinary transplant programs in the region.
Dr. Sangeeth has played a pivotal role in establishing and strengthening the Transplant Anesthesia and Critical Care services at Aster Medcity. The program supports one of the largest liver transplant programs in Kerala, the largest robotic kidney transplant and pediatric kidney transplant center in South India.
He completed his fellowship training in Solid Organ Transplant Anesthesia at Amrita Institute of Medical Sciences (AIMS), Kochi, followed by an International Fellowship in Transplant Anesthesia at ASAN Medical Center, Seoul, one of the world’s leading transplant institutes. He has also received advanced training in intraoperative Transesophageal Echocardiography (TEE), particularly in liver transplant recipients, at the Cleveland Clinic.
Dr. Sangeeth obtained his MBBS from Government Medical College, Thrissur, Diploma in Anesthesia (DA) from Government Medical College, Calicut, and MD in Anesthesiology from B. J. Medical College, Ahmedabad. Prior to joining Aster Medcity, he served as Assistant Professor at Jubilee Mission Medical College, Thrissur, and as Specialist in the Pediatric Cardiac Intensive Care Unit at Aster MIMS, Calicut.
Dr. Sangeeth has been the Programme Director for the Liver Transplant Anesthesia Fellowship at Aster Medcity since 2017 and serves as the Academic In-charge of the DNB postgraduate program. He is actively involved in training residents and fellows, is a faculty member at national and state conferences, and has publications in national and international peer-reviewed journals to his credit.
