Dr. Preetha is an accomplished neonatologist in Calicut with over 23 years of experience in newborn and child care. An alumnus of Calicut Medical College, she obtained her MD and DCH before moving to the U.K., where she worked in Paediatrics from 1994 to 1998. She earned her MRCP (Paediatrics) in 1996 and MRCPCH in 1997, followed by advanced post-membership training in Neonatology at the Regional Referral Neonatal Intensive Care Unit, Norfolk and Norwich Hospital, U.K.
During her time in the U.K., she gained extensive experience at leading hospitals including James Paget Hospital, Great Yarmouth; Queen’s Hospital, Burton upon Trent; and William Harvey Hospital, Kent. She is also a certified provider of Paediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) and Neonatal Advanced Life Support (NALS).
Since its inception, Dr. Preetha has been leading the 20-bed Neonatology Unit at Aster MIMS, Calicut, widely regarded as the best neonatology hospital in Kerala. The unit is equipped with advanced facilities including Total Parenteral Nutrition (TPN) and High-Frequency Ventilation, offering specialized care for critically ill and premature newborns.
As a member of both the Royal College of Physicians and the Royal College of Paediatrics and Child Health, London, Dr. Preetha combines international expertise with compassionate care, making her one of the most trusted neonatologists in Kerala.
