Ms. Rathi Gopinath, Founder and Director of SHISHYA Learning Centre, is an accomplished Educational Therapist with a strong academic foundation in Commerce and Psychology. With over two decades of experience in the field of learning difficulties, she has dedicated her career to helping children overcome academic challenges through evidence-based strategies and personalized interventions.
Her professional journey began with specialized training in learning disabilities in 2000, followed by her role as a Remedial Tutor, Training Coordinator, and Psychologist at Alpha to Omega Learning Centre, Chennai. She later served as Head of the Department of Learning Resources at Kodaikanal International School, where she worked with students from diverse cultural and academic backgrounds.
Ms. Rathi has pursued advanced training in globally recognized approaches such as the Orton Gillingham Method, Feuerstein’s Instrumental Enrichment, Dynamic Assessments from ICELP Israel, and multiple study skills strategies from Kansas University’s CRL. She is also a Licensed Educational Therapist from the National Institute of Learning Development, Regent University, USA.
Beyond direct student support, she has conducted teacher training programs, professional development workshops, and international presentations, including at the NESA International Conference in Bangkok. She is highly skilled in conducting psycho-educational assessments, creating individualized education plans, and equipping teachers and parents with effective intervention strategies.
Passionate about empowering children with learning difficulties, Ms. Rathi’s vision is to help every child discover their true potential and succeed in spite of cognitive challenges.
