Dr. Ameera Kunhayamed
Registrar - Internal Medicine
Dr. Ameera Kunhayamed is an MRCP (UK)–qualified Internal Medicine Physician with extensive postgraduate training from a high-volume tertiary-care teaching hospital at Aster MIMS, Kannur. She has strong expertise in managing acute and chronic medical illnesses, medical emergencies, and complex multi-system disorders.
Actively engaged in postgraduate teaching, clinical supervision, and academic work, Dr. Ameera has contributed to national conference presentations and international peer-reviewed publications. She is committed to delivering evidence-based, patient-centred care while contributing meaningfully to the clinical, academic, and educational growth of a dynamic Internal Medicine department.
- Manages acute and unstable medical patients (sepsis, DKA, AKI, electrolyte and acid-base disorders)
- Acts as the ICU-medicine bridge for post-ICU and step-down patients
- Handles complex autoimmune and inflammatory diseases (AlHA, vasculitis, alveolar haemorrhage)
- Leads diagnostic evaluation of difficult multisystem cases
- Plans and monitors steroids, immunosuppressants and advanced therapies
- Guides juniors with MRCP-level clinical decision-making
