Dr. Mohamed Iliyas

Dr. Mohamed Iliyas completed his MBBS in 2010, and then went on to pursue his M.D. (General Medicine) from Madras Medical College in the year 2016. He got trained and obtained a D.M. (Cardiology) from Madras Medical College in 2021. He worked as a consultant cardiologist at Kauvery Heart City, Trichy (2021-2022) and Sree Chitra Tirunal Institute for Medical Sciences and Technology, Trivandrum in the year 2022 and completed his Post-doctoral fellowship in Adult Cardiology and Interventions in the year 2023 from Sree Chitra Tirunal Institute for Medical Sciences and Technology, Trivandrum in 2023.

He has more than 25 publications in national and international journals. He has presented various challenging cases and research papers in 30 national and international conferences including the USA, Japan, France, Egypt and Thailand. He does complex coronary angioplasties including chronic total occlusion, bifurcation stenting, left main coronary stenting, rotablation, and intravascular lithotripsy regularly. He has acquired skills in managing structural heart defects using device closure of atrial septal defect, ventricular septal defect, patent ductus arteriosus, patent foramen ovale, paravalvular leak and ruptured sinus of Valsalva. He performs balloon valvotomies in all 4 cardiac valves. He is a constant learner and keeps himself updated with the latest technologies. He is trained in performing coarctation of aorta stenting, TAVI, Mitraclip and Transmitral valve-in-valve implantation.
