Dr. Sajeesh Sivadas

Dr Sajeesh Sivadas is a distinguished Senior Consultant Nephrologist at Aster MIMS Hospital, Kottakkal, known for his expertise in advanced kidney care, renal transplantation, dialysis medicine, and management of complex nephrological disorders. With an exceptional academic background and years of dedicated clinical experience, he has established himself as one of the leading nephrologists in the region.

A University Gold Medalist in both MD General Medicine and DM Nephrology, Dr Sajeesh has consistently demonstrated excellence in academics, patient care, and clinical research. He completed his super-speciality training in Nephrology from the prestigious St. John’s Medical College, Bangalore, where he also served as Assistant Professor in Nephrology, actively contributing to clinical teaching and postgraduate training.

At Aster MIMS Hospital Kottakkal, Dr. Sajeesh has been serving since 2017 and has played a pivotal role in developing and strengthening the Department of Nephrology. He was instrumental in establishing the hospital’s Renal Transplant Program. Under his leadership, the transplant program was successfully launched in 2022 and has since achieved more than 78 successful renal transplants, offering advanced transplant care closer to patients in Malappuram and surrounding regions.

His expertise includes comprehensive kidney care ranging from chronic kidney disease (CKD), glomerular diseases, nephrotic syndrome, acute kidney injury, resistant hypertension, diabetic kidney disease, and dialysis management to complex renal transplant evaluation and long-term post-transplant care. Dr Sajeesh is widely respected for his contributions to nephrology research and public health. He gained international recognition for his landmark research identifying the association between mercury-containing skin fairness creams and a rare form of kidney disease known as NELL-1 Membranous Nephropathy. This groundbreaking work was published in the internationally reputed journal Kidney International, bringing attention to environmental and heavy-metal-related kidney disorders.
