Dr. B K Madhusudhan, a distinguished neurologist with over 17 years of clinical and academic experience. He has held multiple leadership positions across premier institutions, including M S Ramaiah medical college,Sparsh Super Speciality Hospitals and BGS Global Hospitals, where he played a pivotal role in establishing and advancing stroke and epilepsy care services.
He is a specialist in stroke management, epilepsy, and comprehensive neurological care, with deep expertise in both acute and chronic neurological disorders. He is also specialized in neurosonology and transcranial Doppler expertise for brain vessels. His career spans academic roles as Professor and HOD of Neurology at BGS Global Institute of Medical Sciences and RajaRajeswari Medical College, as well as extensive hands-on clinical experience from residency to senior consultant roles in top hospitals across Bangalore. Dr. B K Madhusudhan is known for building and leading multidisciplinary teams, mentoring young clinicians, and delivering patient-centric neurological care. His dedication to the advancement of stroke and epilepsy treatment protocols has significantly contributed to improved patient outcomes in the institutions he has served.
Dr. B K Madhusudhan has been actively engaged in both academic research and clinical trials throughout his neurology and internal medicine career. His DM dissertation focused on posterior circulation ischemic stroke, exploring the clinical-radiological correlation, risk factors, and outcomes, Highlighting his diverse research background. He has served as Primary Investigator in multiple national and international multi-center clinical trials, especially in the fields of stroke, epilepsy, and migraine, contributing to the development and evaluation of novel therapeutic interventions. These include pivotal studies such as the ATTEND, ENCHANTED, INSTRUCT, and SPRINT stroke trials, as well as ongoing trials in migraine management (EMPOWER – Novartis) and epilepsy treatment (FYCOMPA trial).He has many Publications in various National and International journals pertaining to stroke and epilepsy. He is also currently serving as a syndicate member of the prestigious Rajiv Gandhi Institute of Medical Sciences (RGUHS). He continues to lead and collaborate in cutting-edge research aimed at improving neurological care and patient outcomes in real-world clinical settings.
