Dr. Girish P. Veeranna is a senior consultant in Medical Gastroenterology with over 15 years of experience in diagnosing and managing a wide spectrum of gastrointestinal and liver conditions, including complex and chronic cases.After completing his MBBS and MD in General Medicine, Dr. Girish pursued his DM in Gastroenterology from the renowned St. John’s Medical College, Bengaluru—under the mentorship of the esteemed Prof. Harshad Devarbhavi.To further enhance his expertise, Dr. Girish pursued advanced international fellowships in Endoscopic Submucosal Dissection (ESD) and Endoscopic Ultrasound (EUS) from Japan, among the most advanced endoscopic techniques used today for minimally invasive diagnosis and treatment of gastrointestinal cancers. Dr. Girish is highly skilled in a wide range of diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopic procedures. He is skilled in performing upper GI endoscopy, colonoscopy, polypectomy, PEG tube insertion, and esophageal dilatation with precision and care. He is also proficient in advanced procedures such as ERCP, EUS-guided biopsies, pseudocyst drainage, and ESD—making him well-equipped to manage both routine and complex gastrointestinal conditions. Dr. Girish P. Veeranna has maintained a strong academic and research focus throughout his medical journey. He has authored several studies and case reports presented at leading national and international forums, including INASL and the Indian Journal of Gastroenterology. His research spans a wide range of topics—from hepatocellular carcinoma and drug-induced liver injury to rare causes of liver failure and gastrointestinal malignancies. He has contributed to over eight publications and posters, reflecting a deep commitment to advancing evidence-based gastroenterology.
