Aster DM Healthcare flags off Hospital on Wheels

The bus equipped with the latest medical equipment will reach out to patients living in Kannur and Kasargod districts

Kannur; Kerala: May 31, 2022 - Aster MIMS Hospital, Kannur part of the Aster DM Healthcare, one of the largest integrated healthcare providers in GCC & India in association with Aster Volunteers - the global CSR arm of Aster DM Healthcare, Salsar Charitable Trust and UAE based Akkaf Events has started a hospital on wheels to provide free treatment for people in the villages of Kannur and Kasargod districts, Kerala.

The bus equipped with the latest medical equipment will travel to the interior of the Kannur and Kasargod districts and will provide treatment to the needy. The bus have an … (list of medical equipments). Patients which would need further treatment or examination will be referred to the nearest Aster Hospital and provided state-of-the-art medical service.

Talking about the launch of the medical service, Dr. Azad Moopen, Founder Chairman and Managing Director, Aster DM Healthcare said, “At Aster, we believe in giving back to the society and making healthcare affordable and accessible to the people who need it the most. We are doing this through various initiatives under Aster Volunteers, an initiative that is reaching out to a large number of people who do not have access to basic healthcare needs, across geographies. The Aster Volunteers Mobile Medical Services (AVMMS) is one such initiative that serves the marginalized communities even in remote locations and provides them with access to quality healthcare. We are thankful to our partners ACKAF and SalSar for joining hands and making this launch a successful one in Kannur & Kasargod.”

Local administration and excise minister M V Govind Master who inaugurated the medical service said that providing free treatment for the public by Aster is a role model for the society. Salahudeen M A, chairman Salsar Charitable Trust and Director Aster MIMS; Advocate Hashik Tahikandi, Vice-President, Akkaf, explained about the project.
