Aster Cardiac Sciences, Aster Medcity organized a two-day workshop-cum-continuing medical education program on the 4th and 5th of July, 2015. On Saturday, the 4th of July, there was a day-long workshop on the radio-frequency ablation of very complicated atrial arrhythmias using novel 3-D Electro-anatomical mapping. The visiting faculty included eminent electrophysiologists, Dr Mohan Nair from New Delhi, Dr Amrit Guptan from the US and Prof J Balachander from JIPMER, Pondicherry.In the evening, these distinguished teachers participated in a symposia on rhythm disorders of the heart at Hotel Marriott and shared their rich experiences with a rapt audience of physicians, cardiologists and medical students.
Sunday, the 5th of July, was ear-marked for a continuing medical education program, held at Aster Medcity on the theme of “Newer Horizons in Cardiology”. The program was inaugurated by Dr Harish Pillai, CEO, Aster Medcity in the presence of Dr VN Unni, Chief of Medical Services, Aster Medcity and the visiting professors. In addition to the in-house faculty led by Prof Anilkumar R, eminent speakers included Dr Ajit Mullasri from Madras Medical Mission, Dr Santhosh Sathessh from JIPMER, Pondicherry and Dr Vijaykumar S from Chennai. The topics for the lectures spanned the entire range of cardiology, pediatric cardiology and cardiac surgery, exploring the latest innovations in the field and peeping into the future. Interactive sessions on ECG, FFR, IVUS and OCT imaging were also held. The rich academic feast was thoroughly enjoyed by a mesmerized audience of medical students, doctors and staff who had arrived from various parts of Kerala
