A maiden community connect program in the state by ASK Foundation "Child Safety Training for Anganvadi Teachers" of Ernakulam district in association with Women & Child Development Department, Govt. of Kerala - undergone successfully with the active participation of Anganvadi teachers. This initiative also highlights the importance of having access to a Pediatrician in Kochi Kerala for timely guidance and child-focused awareness sessions.
Today, Aster Sick Kids Foundation conducted a webinar on Child Safety Training Program to the Anganvadi Teachers through Zoom platform. It’s a continuation of the program underway before the Covid pandemic hit. We have already conducted 15 sessions out of 18 sessions planned and covered 2513 Anganvadi teachers under various blocks of Ernakulam district earlier through direct interaction programs, further strengthening child health initiatives supported by a leading Pediatric Hospital in Kochi Kerala.
The 2513 teachers were also submitted their written affidavit to volunteer with Aster Volunteers Child Health related programs.
Today, a total of 232 participants consisting the Anganvadi Teachers of remaining blocks (Angamaly Additional, Kochi Urban 2, Kumbalam Panchayath and Vyppin), CDPOs, School Counselors and Nutrition Mission coordinators were attended the webinar.
The program was led by Dr. Rajappan Pillai (Head - PICU) with the active assistance of Dr. Gladys Cyril (Consultant - Pediatrics), Dr. Sajana (Senior Specialist - Pediatrics), Dr. Jawad (Resident - Pediatrics) and Ashly (Staff Nurse - ED) by providing the awareness classes and demonstration of training session.
