Dr. Sebastian Paul

An expert at Paediatric Intensive Care with over 5 years of experience, Dr. Sebastian Paul is trained to provide specialised care to critically ill children in the Paediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU), including those on ECMO after cardiac surgery. ECMO is a treatment that uses a pump to circulate blood through an artificial lung back into the bloodstream of a very ill baby. This system provides heart-lung bypass support outside of the baby’s body and may help support a child awaiting a heart or lung transplant. Dr. Paul has completed a Fellowship in Paediatric Critical Care from Narayana Hrudayala, Bangalore. In the course of the fellowship, he has looked after critically ill children with life-threatening conditions like severe dengue, pneumonia, encephalitis, and also taken care of children recovering from surgeries in course of the fellowship. He also holds a Doctor of Medicine (MD) in Paediatrics from Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences and an MBBS earned from Pondicherry University. With several published researched articles to his credit, Dr. Paul has served as a Specialist in Paediatric Oncology at Aster Medcity, besides being an Intensive Care Specialist.
