Dr. Vignesh V, MBBS, MD (Pediatrics), DM (Pediatric Gastroenterology), is a highly accomplished Pediatric Gastroenterologist and Hepatologist at Aster MIMS Calicut. With an outstanding academic foundation and vast clinical expertise, he is dedicated to providing advanced care for children with gastrointestinal, liver, pancreatic, and nutritional disorders.
Dr. Vignesh completed his MBBS from Govt. Kilpauk Medical College, Chennai, followed by an MD in Pediatrics at JIPMER, Puducherry, one of India’s premier medical institutes. He then pursued his DM in Pediatric Gastroenterology at SGPGIMS, Lucknow, where he gained advanced training in complex pediatric gastroenterology and hepatology.
His professional journey includes roles as a Consultant in Pediatric Gastroenterology and Hepatology at Travancore Medical Hospital, Kollam, and as an Assistant Professor at both SGPGIMS, Lucknow, and the Postgraduate Institute of Child Health, Noida. These experiences have equipped him with exceptional clinical acumen as well as academic leadership in his specialty.

He is also highly skilled in performing both diagnostic and therapeutic pediatric endoscopic procedures, including advanced interventions such as pediatric ERCP, luminal stenting, and manometry. - Luminal Diseases – severe abdominal pain, prolonged diarrhea, constipation, rectal prolapse, abdominal distension, gastrointestinal tumors, blood in stool/vomiting, foreign body or corrosive ingestion.
- Hepatobiliary Diseases – evaluation of deranged liver function tests, prolonged jaundice in infants, hepatitis B & C, hepatomegaly, jaundice with altered sensorium.
