Dr. Vinay B. M.
Consultant - Neurosurgery & Endovascular Neurosurgery
Dr. Vinay B. M. is a Neurosurgeon and Endovascular Neurosurgeon with specialised training in treating conditions affecting the brain, spine and blood vessels of the brain. He is trained in both neurosurgical procedures, such as surgery for brain tumours, head injuries, hydrocephalus and spinal conditions, and minimally invasive endovascular procedures, a technique in which tiny instruments are guided through the blood vessels to treat certain conditions affecting the brain without the need for conventional open surgery.
Dr Vinay has completed his MBBS from Hassan Institute of Medical Sciences, followed by an MS in General Surgery from M. S. Ramaiah Medical College, Bangalore, where he was recognised as the Best Outgoing Postgraduate in 2018. He subsequently pursued his MCh in Neurosurgery from Madras Medical College, Chennai, and gained further experience as a Senior Resident in Neurosurgery at AIIMS Bhubaneswar.
Building on his training in neurosurgery, Dr. Vinay further specialised in Endovascular Neurosurgery through the FIENS (RGUHS) programme at Aster CMI Hospital, Bangalore, developing expertise in minimally invasive approaches to neurovascular conditions. This combination of surgical and endovascular training allows him to consider different treatment approaches for each patient, helping determine the option most appropriate for their condition and individual needs.
Dr. Vinay is also actively involved in research and academic activities. He has presented his work at neurosurgical conferences on topics including pineal region tumours, Chiari III malformation and intraoperative ICG video angiography. His research publications include work on middle meningeal artery embolisation for chronic subdural haematoma, along with research from his earlier surgical training.
For patients with complex brain, spine or cerebrovascular conditions, Dr. Vinay brings together neurosurgical expertise and advanced endovascular treatment options, with a focus on choosing an appropriate and minimally invasive approach whenever possible.
