Overview

Dr. Naveen Chandra G S is a HOD and Lead Consultant - Interventional Cardiology at Aster Whitefield Hospital. He is working in the field of Interventional Cardiology for over a decade. He has completed his MBBS from KIMS, Bangalore. After completing of MD in KMC Manipal, he went on to do DM in Cardiology from the prestigious institute of Postgraduate Medical Education and Research, Kolkata. He was a former Assistant professor in Cardiology at KMC Manipal. He has been trained in coronary intervention with a special interest in radial artery intervention. Dr Naveen Chandra has good experience in cardiovascular imaging as IVUS and OCT, Rotablation and FFR-guided coronary angioplasty. He also performs pacemaker/AICD/CRTD implantation and other structural interventions. He also has a keen interest in primary prevention of cardiovascular disease. He is actively involved in research and academics and has published more than 30 publications in national and international indexed journals. He has been exploring special and newer interventions in recent years to keep up to date. He has strongly engaged himself in many community out reach programs CPR training, primary prevention, and health talks. He is also an avid runner himself, competing in many half and full marathons.

Femoral and radial angioplasty –Includes complex coronary intervention, bifurcation lesions, CTO, LMCA, PAMI interventions, Rotablations.
Well trained in cardiac imaging including IVUS, OCT and FFR.
Peripheral angioplasty (includes celiac, subclavian, iliac, femoral, carotid) and venous interventions.
Pulmonary artery catheter directed thrombolysis and thrombectomy
Structural heart disease interventions - ASD, VSD, PDA Device closure, Mitral and pulmonary valvuloplasty.
Pacemaker implantation (single chamber, Dual chamber, AICD, CRT).
Aortic stent grating (thoracic and abdominal stent grafting).
Leadless pacemaker implantation.

Smt. Lakshmamma memorial gold medal in general medicine - for securing highest marks in general medicine in MBBS - 2004.
Suma jayaram memorial endowment prize in MBBS for securing highest marks in general medicine - 2004.
1st prize in post doctoral quiz held in annual scientific conference 2012- organized by CSI.
1st prize in interesting ECHO presentation competition for a case of “An atypical case of double chamber right ventricle- 2nd reported case” held in Update in cardiology 2011 organized by CSI.
1st prize in interesting case presentation competition for a case of “ An interesting case of complex pulmonary venous connections - imaging VS imaging” held in 2nd eastern zonal echocardiography conference in 2012.
1st prize in interesting intervention (CD presentation) competition for a case of “Use of covered stent for the treatment of patent ductus arteriosus with coarctation of aorta - Novel treatment strategy” held in society of cardiovascular intervention 2012 in Kolkata and won a sponsorship for The 53rd Asan Medical Center Interventional Cardiology Training Program ” held at Seoul , South Korea.
1st prize in interesting case presentation competition for a case of “Eyes don’t see what our mind doesn’t think an eye opening case of left outflow tract obstruction” held in 3nd eastern zonal echocardiography and 6th west Bengal academy of echocardiography conference in 2013.
