Aster MIMS Calicut marked World Kidney Day with a meaningful patient engagement programme held on March 29, 2026, bringing together kidney transplant recipients, donor families, and healthcare professionals. The event created a platform for sharing experiences, offering support, and celebrating the gift of life through organ transplantation.
A major highlight of the programme was the launch of “Jeevadhayini – Life Given,” a joint initiative by Aster MIMS Calicut and PORFA Charitable Trust. This initiative aims to provide free kidney transplant surgeries for underprivileged patients, supported by donor families, thereby extending hope and access to life-saving treatment for those in need.
The gathering was graced by Salim Kumar as the chief guest, whose presence added warmth and inspiration to the occasion. His interaction with patients and families further uplifted the spirit of the event.
The programme also highlighted inspiring journeys of transplant recipients, showcasing resilience and renewed life after successful treatment. It reinforced the importance of organ donation and the impact it can have on saving lives.
