Dr. Mohammed Rafeeque P K, is a renowned Neuro and Body Interventionist with more than 15 years of experience. He completed speciality certification (Radiodiagnosis & Interventional Radiology) from the Government Medical College Hospital, Kozhikode.
He completed his MBBS, MD & DMRD from Government Medical College Kozhikode and PDCC (Interventional Vascular & Neuro Radiology) from Sri Ramachandra Medical College & Research Institute, Sri Ramachandra Deemed University, Chennai.
He also have special training in Neuro intervention observership at University of Toronto, Canada, Neuro imaging Observership from SCTIMST, Trivandrum & Advanced Neuro intervention Observer Fellowship from KEM Hospital & Seth GS Medical college, Mumbai.
He is life member in Society of Therapeutic Neuro interventions (STNI), Life Member- Indian Society of Vascular and Interventional Radiology (ISVIR), Life Member - Indian Society of Interventional Oncology, Life Member- Indian Medical Association ( IMA), Life Member- Indian Radiological and Imaging Association (IRIA), Member Calicut Neurological Society. He has done numerous presentations in International & National forums and has publications in leading indexed journals.
He was also instrumental in establishing the first Interventional Radiology department with OP and IP facilities in a Government Medical college ( Kozhikode) in the state of Kerala. He has the credit of doing the first Intracranial CTO angioplasty & Stenting in the India and the first in the country to do a Neuro intervention under exclusive Robotic 3D roadmap navigation . He is also one among very few who has done the most number of Anatomical snuff box access interventions in the country.
Doctor was also the first to do Microwave ablation of liver tumour and lung tumour in the state of Kerala.
His areas of special interest are public awareness programs for Prevention and Treatment of Acute Stroke, Educational events for physicians and health care workers, and Training future generation of Interventionists.
