Dr. Shamil PK is a senior specialist in the department of Pulmonary Medicine who has more than 6 years of experience in the field of pulmonary, critical care, and sleep medicine.
He has received extensive training from premier institutions in the country. After his MBBS, he joined the Institute of Chest Diseases- Government Medical College Calicut for post-graduation in the year 2012. He has also received a DNB (Respiratory Medicine) degree from the National Board of Examination (NBE). He is one among very few pulmonologists in the state with the super specialty degree. He got super-specialty training (DM- Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine) from the prestigious Vardhman Mahavir Medical College and Safdarjung Hospital, New Delhi.
He had participated and done presentations in state and national level conferences on multiple occasions. He has done research work in the field of COPD, covid 19, and Weaning from mechanical ventilators. He has published multiple papers in national and international indexed journals.
He is interested in complex airway diseases, Interstitial Lung Diseases (ILD), Pulmonary infections, Pleural Diseases, Sepsis, Septic shock, ARDS, Interventional Pulmonology Procedures, and sleep pathologies like OSA and OHS.
He is very interested in undergraduate and postgraduate level teaching, academic activities, and research work.
