Gastroenterologists and Gynaecologists from Kochi and other parts of Kerala converged at the G2G Interface Conclave that was held over the weekend at Holiday Inn, Kochi. The Conclave was organised by Aster Medcity, the leading quaternary care super-speciality medical centre in Kerala, to bring together gastroenterologists and gynecologists on a single platform. The G2G Interface Conclave was organised by the Centres of Excellence in Women’s Health and Gastroenterology & Integrated Liver Care at Aster Medcity in association with the ISG Kerala Chapter, Cochin Gut Club, COGS - (FOGSI, Cochin Chapter).
Dr. Ismail Siyad, Medical Gastroenterologist and Organizing Secretary of the Conclave said, “This was the first interface scientific session of its kind organised by Aster Medcity that gave Gastroenterologists and Gynaecologists in Kerala the unique opportunity to listen to and learn from an eminent faculty panel comprising some of the most respected names in the field of Gastroenterology and Obstetrics & Gynaecology. The sessions were appreciated by the attending delegates which gives us the encouragement to organize more such conclaves in the future.”
The G2G Interface Conclave was inaugurated on Saturday evening by Dr. Krishna Das, President, ISG Kerala Chapter with Dr. M Narayanan, IMA President, Kochi delivering the Key Note Address. The opening sessions on Pregnancy related gastrointestinal problems and Endoscopy and Endoscopic interventions in pregnancy were well received by the delegates. The sessions on the second day included classification of pregnancy related liver disorders, management of hyperemesis gravidarum, eclampsia, management of Inflammatory Bowel Disease during pregnancy, approach to Liver Mass detected during pregnancy, Hepatitis in Pregnancy along with interesting case snippets.
Renowned faculty from across the country addressed the attending specialists. These included Prof. Y K Chawla, Past Director, PGIMER, Chandigarh, Dr. Naresh Bhat, President Elect, ISG, Bangalore, Dr. Rupa Banerjee, AIG, Hyderabad, Dr. Joy Varghese, Global Hospital, Chennai, Dr. Nirja Chawla, Chandigarh, and Dr. Kaiser Raja, Aster CMI, Bengaluru.
