Continuing Medical Education (CME) session highlighted Liver Tumour Update.

Aster Medcity organized a special CME, the Frontiers in Liver Disease Conference with a focus on Liver Tumour Update on the 13th and 14th of August. The conference inaugurated at the Taj Gateway Hotel, Kochi. The Frontiers in Liver Disease Conference - ‘Liver Tumour Update kicked off on the 13th August at 8 pm with a Key Note address on GI Oncology in 2016 - “The Indian Scenario” by Dr. Mohandas Mallath, Senior Consultant, GI Oncology, Tata Medical Centre, Kolkata. Chairpersons for the opening session will be Dr. Philip Augustine, Managing Director, PVS Hospital, Kochi, Dr. Narayanan Kutty Warrier, Senior Consultant, Oncology, MIMS, Prof. K R V Kumar, Senior Consultant, Gastroenterology, Travancore Medcity.

Sessions on 14th August from 9:00 am till 3:30 pm held at Aster Medcity. The first session on Neuroendocrine Liver Metastasis specialists talking on the various aspects like Diagnosis and Staging, Role of a Surgeon, and Non-surgical options. The other sessions include updated from specialists on Hepatocellular Carcinoma focusing on Selection of Candidates for Liver Transplantation, Intra Arterial Radiation and the evolving role of Stereotactic Body Radiation Therapy (SBRT) in Liver Cancer. A session on Paediatric Liver Tumours discussed the role of a Multi-disciplinary team.

The post lunch session focused on Colorectal Liver Metastasis and Cholangiocarcinoma. The entire conference designed and structured in a way to give a complete update on Liver Tumours to the attending delegates.
