Today on the 6th of July 2015, “Canserve”, a cancer support group, of cancer survivors, the oncologists who treated them, and a few supporters and caregivers, officially launched their activities at Aster Medcity , Kochi. The cancer support group believes in ‘No one faces cancer alone’, and they extended their counseling, patient care and o financial support services to poor and needy cancer patients admitted at Aster Medcity.
Mayor Tony Chamminy inaugurated the event held at the Annexe hall ofAster Medcity. Various doctors including the CEO of Aster Medcity, Dr Harish Pillai , Dr Vivek Radhakrishnan and Dr Ram Kumar spoke about the significance of cancer care at this point of time in Kerala. Cine artist Anumol a guest speaker for the event shared her personal experience as a cancer supporter.
The President of Canserve Mrs. Kala Joymon recalled her journey in the fight against cancer. A detailed videopresentation of the activities of Canserve was also presented during this event. Upcoming singer, Midhun Warrier also rendered a soulful song.
During this event Canserve extended a helping hand to Sanju Ann Saji, a cancer patient at Aster Medcity, a very bright student who scored A1 in all her subjects for the tenth standard final examinations, inspite of taking her exams while undergoing chemotheraphy. The Canserve team also distributed toys to the children who are under treatment for cancer at ster Medicity.
