Kochi:Aster Centre of Excellence in Neuroscience held a half day Continuing Medical Education Workshop (CME) titled Genetics in Neurology at Knowledge Hub here today.
The field of genetics has undergone a revolutionary change in the recent period. The accurate clinical diagnosis and evaluation remain the fundamental steps to efficient management of genetic disorders. The expert speakers from Aster Medcity and AIMS, Kochi presented papers on the clinical aspects of genetic disorders and practical aspects of genetic testing at the workshop.
The different sessions at the workshop were lead by Dr. Mathew Abraham, Associate Consultant Neurologist, Aster Medcity, Dr. Sheela Nampoothiri, HOD, Genetics, AIMS, Kochi,Dr. Natasha, Dept. of Ophthalmology, AIMS, Kochi, Dr. Boby Varkey, Lead Consultant Neurologist, Aster Medcity, Dr. Sandeep Padmanabhan, Senior Specialist Neurologist, Aster Medcity and Dr. Akbar Chettali, Senior Specialist Paediatric Neurologist. Mr Ramesh Kumar, Chief Operating Officer, Aster Medcity and Dr V N Unni, Chief Of Medical Services, Aster Medcity also took part in the half day long workshop.
