With the rising cancer incidence rate in the state, there is a need for specialised infrastructure and collective expertise in the treatment of cancer. Keeping this in mind, Aster Hospitals Kerala has relaunched their oncology services under Aster International Institute of Oncology (AIIO), a centre of excellence for all cancer treatments and robotic surgery, to offer the most advanced, multidisciplinary treatment plans.

Under AllO, there are Centres of Excellence like the International Institute for Robotic Oncosurgery, International Institute for Peritoneal Malignancy, Ovarian Cancer and HIPEC & PIPAC, International Institute for Breast Surgery, Oncoplasty, SLNB, Lymphoedema Surgery, International Institute for Immunotherapy, and International Institute for IGRT, SBRT and Intraoperative Radiotherapy.
The state-of- the-art institute was launched by Prof. Dr.Somashekhar S P, Chairman of Medical Advisory Board and Global Director of Aster International Institute of Oncology, Aster DM Healthcare- India & amp; GCC. Commenting on the need to establish a comprehensive cancer care institute in India, Prof.Dr. Somashekhar S P said, "The idea is to establish AllO as the number one cancer care institute in India, and soon to be in the top 5 globally. All centres will have robotic technology, hi-tech dedicated machines, intra- operative radiotherapy, and state-of-the-art medical equipment.
We are also partnering with top universities in the world for research and development purposes. We are establishing training and fellowship programs in affiliation with Rajiv Gandhi University or any recognized university and offering Dr NB Oncology programme.
