December 16, 2016: Aster MIMS enlarges it’s bouquet of healthcare services with the inauguration of the specialised Center for Plastic, Vascular and Reconstructive Surgery. The Center will be headed by Dr. Krishnakumar K S who has over 20 years of experience in the field. The Center for Plastic, Vascular, Cosmetic and Reconstructive Surgery at Aster MIMS will provide the highest quality medical and surgical services by integrating innovative techniques that focus on enhancing the appearance and improving the quality of life of people.
The Center will provide comprehensive services through its facilities for Burns Reconstruction, Trauma Care, Reconstructive Surgery and Cosmetic Surgery. The Burns Reconstruction facility will use modern plastic surgery to correct dysfunction and deformities related to burn injuries. The Trauma Care facility will address complex injuries especially of the face and extremities that require micro and macro vascular reconstruction. The Reconstructive Surgery facility will focus on parts of the body that are functionally or aesthetically affected by congenital defects, developmental abnormalities, trauma, infection, tumours, or other diseases. The Cosmetic Surgery facility will focus on aesthetic improvement of appearance and thus, self esteem through various procedures.
Dr. Krishnakumar K S has worked extensively in India and USA. In addition to a MCh. and FRCS in Plastic Surgery, he holds a CCT in Plastic Surgery from UK and is a Fellow of the Christine M Kleinert Institute, USA.
